Additional Status Message ID request?

Hello,

I need to report a power fault but there seems to be no suitable suitable ID.

The specific case is a Neutral-Earth fault.

Kind regards
Bernt

For most cases, you can define your own status ID using a Manufacturer Specific messages between 0x8000 and 0xFFDF, and the STATUS_ID_DESCRIPTION PID to give it a human readable string name.

There is a procedure for defining new status ID's in the public range, but this is primarily intended to be used for status messages that will be widely used by many different vendors.

Please add you requirements here and lets see if we can get some more public ones defined. This is relevant now as we look at developing the additional dimmer centric PID's.

Hi Peter,

Our immediate requirement would be for reporting some sort of POWER_FAULT.

My direct application is for the detection of a Neutral / Earth fault. This happens when a voltage between Neutral and Earth rises above a trheshold.

Kind regards
Bernt
